| dc.description.abstract | Climate change policy has become headline news and a key policy concern in Australia. Several factors have combined to elevate the issue, including the message from the Stern Review that climate change is a risk to future economic growth, firmer science on climate change and growing realisation of grave risks from climate change. Al Gore's movie, An Inconvenient Truth, has undoubtedly played a role to elevate climate change in the public perception, and the ongoing drought has given immediacy to environmental issues generally. Media reporting on climate change issues is pervasive, opinion polls show support for policy measures to address climate change, and industry increasingly voices support for greenhouse gas policy. | |
