dc.description.abstract | This project examines the impact of IT project alignment mechanisms on the development of computer systems for the delivery of contracted government services in a complex public/private sector inter-organizational environment. Improved theoretical understanding of IT and business alignment in multi-firm environments is essential for the effective delivery of a range of government services. We propose a conceptual model and research plan to test the alignment elements necessary to obtain business value from systems in a complex public sector environment. This research will improve the performance of the Australian Government in delivery of important program objectives in relation to employment and disability services, and by providing cost-effective services to the Australian public. | |
