| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation is an attempt to measure systematically Australia public opinion as it relates to foreign policy. This measurement is taken over a considerable time span, generally speaking, the post-World War II era, but major emphasis has been given to the years between 1966 and 1972, with one chapter looking at the period after 1972. So, in a sense, the thesis concentrates on the period from the departure from the political scene of Sir Robert Menzies to the Prime Ministership of E.G. Whitlam. | en_AU |
