Abstract

The lifetime of the b1πu(ν = 1) state in 14N2 was determined. A direct time-domain pump-probe lifetime measurement yielded a lifetime of 2.61 ns. The studies showed that a separate calculation of the predissociation lifetime is possible. The measured li
