Abstract
The branch of economic geography that focused on extractive industries has analysed why certain industries develop in certain locations, and theorized about these locations. but gender did not enter into these locational conversations. This chapter steps away from such avowed gender neutrality and illuminates the extractive industries as gendered places of work at various scales.
