dc.description.abstractHorror show with a magic lantern Animated, hand-painted slides of the macabre and the grotesque, the shocking and the heartbreaking, thrown onto the screen from the magic lantern. Inspired by the exhibition Sideshow Alley, accompanied by the duo Andromeda is Coming (Charles Martin and Alexander Hunter) performing on percussion and live electronics, and with special guests from the National Portrait Gallery, Martyn Jolly will project original hand painted and hand tinted glass slides through a vintage magic lantern. This is a chance to see these dissolving and transforming images as they were originally experienced over a hundred years ago.en_AU
