Abstract
A general characterization of the ideal of respect, in particular respect as equals, in descriptive terms. The characterization is designed to be analytically acceptable in satisfying general assumptions about what respect is but also theoretically acceptable in identifying a pattern of interaction that is bound to be salient and appealing for conversive, consversable creatures like us.
