The publication in 2020 of Mark Walters’ marvellous book, Dicey and the Common Law Constitutional Tradition: A Legal Turn of Mind1 (Dicey and the Common Law Tradition) amply justifies the view that A.V. Dicey's The Law of the Constitution,2 first published in 1885, continues, into the twenty-first century, to be the most influential single volume ever written on what (in the Preface to the first edition) Dicey called ‘English constitutionalism’.
