dc.description.abstractQuantum chemistry calculations have been used alongside experimental kinetic analysis to investigate the competition between SN2 and E2 mechanisms for the dechlorination of hexachlorocyclohexane isomers, revealing that enzyme specificity reflects the intrinsic reactivity of the various isomers.
