dc.description.abstractAn infrageneric classification of Syzygium based upon evolutionary relationships as inferred from analyses of nuclear and plastid DNA sequence data, and supported by morphological evidence, is presented. Six subgenera and seven sections are recognised. An identification key is provided and names proposed for two species newly transferred to Syzygium.
