English summary: This article examines the institutional context in New Caledonia for teaching and training in the arts of the theatre: in the education system (school and university); conservatories; private theatrical and other companies. It considers the role of New Caledonian government actors such as the Poemart for supporting the arts, and of regional government support, for example, the AFMI in the Northern Province. The article provides statistical information about costs, duration and extent of training, the number of those involved, and discusses structural difficulties linked to the cultural, political and demographic context of New Caledonia, as well as some interesting initiatives such as Ecole du Cirque. Finally, it considers the international dimension of the question, through educational linkages and other forms of collaboration and links these developments to the evolution of New Caledonia society.en_AU
