Abstract

Finalist for the inaugural Fuse Glass Prize, hosted by the Jam Factory, Adelaide. The exhibition selected 10 established and 5 emerging artists through a respected judging panel.

JamFactory introduced this new award for excellence in the field of glass to provide an opportunity for a high level national survey of contemporary glass.

The exhibition aimed to capture innovative contemporary work across the field of glass within Australia and highlight the conversations and trends within the medium.

The new work submitted for this exhibition contextualised my practice led research within a curated national conversion of contemporary glass.

The works were curated by Brian Parks: Chief Executive Officer and Artistic Director at JamFactory; Tina Oldknow, then Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Glass, Corning Museum of Glass, New York; Robert Bell, Senior Curator Decorative Arts and Design at the National Gallery of Australia; Margot Osbourne, Adelaide writer, curator and respected author in the field of Australian art and design; and Lisa Slade Assistant Director, Artistic Programs at the Art Gallery of South Australia.
