Abstract
Shell ornaments and tools have been reported in both Mainland and Island Southeast Asia (MSEA; ISEA). They are two of the hallmarks of the Austronesian diaspora throughout ISEA and into the Pacific, and have thus been thought to have a predominantly Neolithic temporal distribution (Bellwood 1997).
