Globular Clusters and Dwarf Galaxies
Abstract
This contribution concentrates on a comparison between the globular cluster systems of Local Group dwarf galaxies and the clusters of the outer halo of the Galaxy. It reveals that in terms of structural parameters, luminosities, ages, and abundances, the combined dwarf and outer halo cluster systems are quite similar. This similarity supports the hypothesis that a significant fraction of the outer Galactic halo may have originated in the disruption of dwarf-galaxy-like systems.
