Abstract

Leaf respiration plays a key role in plant primary production due toits roles in determining rates of daily net carbon gain, nutrientacquisition, and growth. It is now well-accepted that leaf respira-tion differs considerably between darkness and light, not only inrate but also in its metabolic pathways and biological functions(Tcherkezet al., 2012).
