Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are advised that ANU Library collections may include images, names, voices, and other representations of deceased persons.

Material in the collection may contain terms, language or views that reflect the period in which the item was created and may be considered inappropriate today.

Indonesian film today remains somewhat on the fringes of studies into cinema, film, and pop culture for reasons that we do not fully understand. As Southeast Asia's most populous country, with one of its more prolific film industries, not to mention its television industry, this strikes those of us who work on this topic to be both a blessing and a curse. The lack of exposure prompted us editors to conceive a forum in which young scholars who work on Indonesian cinema could garner a wider audience and to begin revealing the scope of Indonesian film.en_AU
