Abstract

We describe the optical design, predicted radiative characteristics, and engineering of a high-flux solar simulator for high-temperature solar and materials research. The simulator consists of 18 2.5kW<inf>e</inf> xenon short-arc lamps coupled to ellipsoidal reflectors.
