Abstract

(Chemical Equation Presented) Microwave irradiation of certain chloro-, bromo-, trifluoromethanesulfonyloxy- and nonafluorobutanesulfonyloxy-substituted quinolines in the presence of acetic anhydride and sodium iodide leads, via a trans-halogenation process, to the corresponding iodides in high yield.
