This was a lecture and recital given by me on 27 April 2019 at La Perouse Museum, the site of the landing of Compte La Prouse and his French expedition in 1788. The place is sacred to the local indigenous people, who had peaceful interactions with the expedition. My lecture and recital drew elements of this history into a succinct event.en_AU
