Abstract
Popper's political thought may usefully be understood in three ways. First there is his own personal political trajectory. Second there are issues from his theory of knowledge and his more general philosophical ideas which are pertinent to his politics. Third there are his more specific political theories. I will discuss these in turn, prior to a concluding section in which I turn to criticism and will thus raise some problems concerning Popper's political philosophy.
