Complementary Therapies in the ICU

Abstract

Conventional medicine, geared to treating and supporting potentially reversible conditions with a survival goal, can often lead to dehumanisation of the intensive care unit (ICU). Complementary therapies, when used in conjunction with conventional medicine in the ICU, may have a role in improving the patient journey.
