Australian security in the 1990s

Abstract

This paper examines AUBtralia's regional security prospects for the 1990s. It describes various trends in the regional security environment and notes their implications for AUBtralian security policy. The long-term shift in the regional quantitative and qualitative military balance is analysed and its implication for Australian security policy assessed. The paper concludes by arguing that the most appropriate long-term policy for Australia is that of'cooperative security'. Show more
