Friday, April 7th will be celebrated around the globe as World Health Day. Sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO), World Health Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the interconnections between all of us and the future of global health. This year’s theme is “Depression: Let’s Talk,” and events will be held around the world and online to bring greater attention to depression and mental health more generally. World Health Day is also an excellent opportunity to reflect back on the role of global health in larger international development efforts and the roles that the United Nations system has played in promoting these efforts.en_AU
