Abstract
Before I start a discussion about imprisonment and detention as often easy responses to complex
issues and the need to avoid crime creation and find socially just options in the area of juvenile
justice, I think it is important to listen to the very people namely juvenile offenders who are in
detention and what their often acute observations are.
