Abstract

We report high brightness coherent supercontinuum extending from 2.8 to 5.0μm in an air cladded Si0.6Ge0.4/Si waveguide with all-normal dispersion. Supercontinuum is generated by pumping with ~200fs pulses at 3.8μm. Dispersion engineering and low propagation loss (~0.5dB/cm at 3.8μm) allowed us to achieve more than 5mW useful on-chip average power.
