Solitons in Multi-level Cellular Automata

Abstract

A matrix approach to cellular automata (CA) and analogies with nonlinear wave motion including solitons were provided. The possibility of soliton type effects of non-integrable systems, like fusion and elastic collisions, were proved with simple nonlinear evolution rules. Clear connection was observed between CA solitons and partial differential equations. A lossless soliton collision with pulses passing through each other was also demonstrated. Show more
