Abstract
The last sentence of the Stephen Howes and Robin Davies’ excellent piece ‘Trump and development: aid, migration and the Beijing Consensus’, “…the greatest developmental impact of the Trump presidency may be to cement the Beijing Consensus as the pre-eminent global development model”, prompted me to reflect on what the Beijing Consensus is, and whether it applies to China’s global development or foreign aid policy.
