Abstract

We report the first demonstration of a photonic-chip based all-optical XOR gate for 40Gbit/s and 160Gbit/s phase-encoded signals. We achieve error-free, XOR operation for 40Gbit/s signals without power penalty in a dispersion-engineered chalcogenide waveguide.
