Abstract
A study was conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of organometallic complexes for nonlinear optics along with dispersion of the third-order nonlinear optical properties of trapheynlamine-cored alkynylruthenium dendrimers. Three systematically varied triphenyl-amine-cored alkynylruthenium dendrimers were used for the study, which allowed the assessment of the impact of π-system lengthening through the metal center and effect of generation increase. The evaluation of nonlinear absorption and refraction properties was carried out using Z-scan experiments in the spectral range 532-1600 nm and by employing femtosecond pulses. Closed-aperture and open-aperture Z-scan measurement were conducted to determine spectral dependencies of absorptive and refractive components on the hyperpolarizability. The n-cored alkynylruthenium dendrimers showed 2PA behavior at wavelength below 1000 nm.
