Abstract

The Court's obligation to furnish annual reports is designed to facilitate evaluation of its performance and to enhance its accountability. Annual reporting also ensures that a significant amount of information, otherwise unavailable, is placed on the public record. Nevertheless, the reporting obligation has generated disquiet from time to time, some seeing in it the potential to detract from judicial independence.
