Prehistoric stone mortars
Abstract
Distributional studies of stone mortars and pestles, as well as obsidian stemmed artefacts, have just begun, and these investigations are changing our perspective on the nature of social networks that existed in New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago thousands of years ago.
