Abstract

The order parameters derived and verified for the chiral Potts model, that is one of the N-state spins with nearest-neighbor interactions on a planar lattice, using the Jimbo method were discussed. It was found that the method was quite similar to the inversion relation method for calculating the free energy. The free energy of the model was obtained using functional transfer matrix relations. The results show that the chiral Potts model agreed with previous conjectures.
