Abstract

An interactive improvised concert comprising of 28 individual mini works. The performer gains inspiration from the sketches provided and / or the video snippets screened whilst performing. An electronic harmonising pedal was used intermittently to provide a richer tonal landscape. Part One is inspired by the great jazz bassist Jimmy Garrison. The saxophone provides a series of double time lines that are repeated many times over but are moved around the different parts of the bar to create tension as well as symmetry.
