Abstract

Gulf states have long discussed the necessity of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) – companies with fewer than 100 employees – to the long-term sustainability of their economy. As governments find themselves overstretched in an attempt to provide employment for citizens in the public sector, the employment potential of private sector SMEs cannot be overlooked.
