The Historical Context and Meaning Origin of the Word of "Stereotype Party Writing"

Abstract

The word "party" in "Stereotyped Party Writing" originally referred to Kuomintang. "Stereotyped Party Writing" was a proper noun used by the intellectual and cultural circles in resisting against the the bureaucratic writing style and criticizing the ossified Three People's Principles in the 1920's. The emergence and popularity of "Stereotyped Party Writing" also indirectly reflected the difficulty and challenge of unifying the ideology in the beginning era of the Nanjing National Government. The formation of Mao Zedong's thought of critizing "Stereotyped Party Writing" appeared as a progressive course. His thought was initially presented in "On Contradiction" published in August 1937, but not until August 1941, then stood as the most remarkable achievement. This speech has been widely spread and extended a far-reaching influence, and possibly because of so, researchers have failed to explore the emerging background and meaning source of this phrase before the speech.
