Abstract
Upon entering the National Museum of Australia’s refurbished environment gallery, Great Southern Land, you are flanked by the mammoth trunks of Bunya pines (Araucaria bidwillii). The football-sized cones that fall from their dizzying heights, displayed nearby, evoke the megaflora of the Jurassic period.
