dc.description.abstractIn 2005 the excavation of a new rockshelter in Papua New Guinea, Watinglo, unearthed the unusual find of four stone disc-shaped beads. Beads such as this have not hitherto been reported from Papua New Guinea. The context, age, technology of manufacture and petrography of the beads are described.
