Progress in WTO-based trade liberalisation depends on developing a mechanism within each member country which makes the economy-wide benefits known to the public. <p>... at present, as in the recent US case of restrictions on lamb imports, the focus in the importing countries is directed to the impacts on the internationally uncompetitive domestic industries.
