Abstract
2013 "Kedumba Drawing Award 2013"
Research Background
In 2013 I was invited to participate in the exclusive Kedumba Drawing Award which is an annual event where invited artists produce an artwork for the event in the form of a drawing. The exhibition is a peer reviewed exhibition and is by invitation only
Research Contribution
The work produced "Paddock Traces 2013" builds on research about the division and use of rural landscapes. Account is given of the spatio temporal aspects of movement through rural landscapes as well as consideration of more permanent barriers such as fence lines and terrain
Research Significance
The significance of the research is a consideration of the nature of inhabited space within rural environments and how this can be explored through non conventional drawing approaches using Pokerwork and scorching of paper. The work adds to the field of drawing as an exploratory medium and speculative practice
