Cultural advice

The Australian National University acknowledges, celebrates and pays our respects to the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people of the Canberra region and to all First Nations Australians on whose traditional lands we meet and work, and whose cultures are among the oldest continuing cultures in human history.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are advised that ANU Library collections may include images, names, voices, and other representations of deceased persons.

Material in the collection may contain terms, language or views that reflect the period in which the item was created and may be considered inappropriate today.

Abstract

In my practice, over the last number of years John has been concentrating on drawing. This he has done with the purpose of pushing the language of fluidity and change, to explore the great “I am”. Through exploration and experimentation John has been working to see if I could be in the ‘now’, without fear of failures of the past or doubts about the future, to express as fully as I can, mind, body, emotions and spirit through the physical act of drawing. These drawings John refers to as “Amen” Drawings - So Be It.
