Abstract

The field of quantum communication and computation is receiving much attention. The continuous-variable polarization states are one of the most promising candidates for carrying the information in a quantum network. In this paper, the nonclassical properties of these states are characterized on the basis of the Stokes-operators and their variances. Different classes of polarization-squeezed states are generated and experimentally characterized.
