Simulation: a pedagogy emerging from the shadows
Abstract
In no Common Law jurisdiction is simulation regarded as part of law’s “signature pedagogy.” Yet other professions such as business, and professions where performance can be life-critical such as medical education and aviation, use a variety of simulation activities that are at once learning zones and high-stakes assessment for novice professionals in these disciplines. This chapter will explore how digital simulation can be used in legal
education, and describes a number of projects where simulation is currently
in use in the UK, and is being developed in the USA.
