Health system responses to population ageing and noncommunicable diseases in Asia

Abstract

Many countries in the Asia-Pacific region will experience rapidly ageing societies over the next few decades; consequently, demand for health services for chronic care will increase. Health systems across the region at different stages of readiness will need to adapt strategically, especially the low- and middle-income countries, given their limited resources.
