Abstract
Observations of magnetic A, B and O stars show that the poloidal magnetic flux per unit mass Φp/M appears to have an upper bound of approximately 10-6.5 Gcm2 g-1. A similar upper bound to the total flux per unit mass is found for the magnetic white dwarf
