dc.description.abstractTraditional irrigation-based rural landscapes are discussed, with examples in north Portugal, south China and in the Angkor World Heritage Site. Each place has a different approach to historical and cultural heritage, with government attitudes raning from proactive to indifferent. Some comments are made on the possibility of preserving antiquities within the rural landscape.en_AU
