Abstract

Metallic gold dissolves in H2S-containing supercritical water to produce the complex Au(HS)(H2S)3. A temperature decrease below 400°C and/or pressure decrease lead to a decomposition of this complex and, hence, to a rapid precipitation of metallic gold.
