Abstract

Dynamic measurements in capillary condensation experiments with n-C8 and n-C16 were carried out using a simplified surface force apparatus (SFA). Evidence for a structural transition in adsorbed n-alkane films above the bulk Tm was obtained. Transition was characterized by a decrease in film thickness and a marked increase in the rate of surface diffusion.
