The cause of failure of the Humpty Doo venture that have been identified above do not necessarily mean that large-scale productions of a range of crops will always lie beyond the realms of achievement. They do serve to highlight the pitfalls that must be overcome. For successful commercial cropping to be realised the technical, economic and social components of agriculture as it is known in Australia must be blended together in manner appropriate for the place and the time. Conversely, this does not mean that each development project will require a completely different approach. General principles are involved and a few concluding remarks can be made about these broader issues.en_AU
