Abstract

This publication consists of the conference proceedings of section D6 from the International World Congress of German Studies in Shanghai 2015. All presentations of section D6 focussed on ways to promote the German language in a globalised world. Individual articles deal with language policy, language learning motivation, German in the European Union, and the standing of German in various countries. The 19 articles were co-edited by Ulrich Ammon, Shinichi Sambe and Gabriele Schmidt, the three co-chairs of section D6.
