Looking the other way. A materialist/technological approach to classifying tools and implements, cores and retouched flakes

Coherent and consistent differentiation of the categories of tool, implement, core and retouched flake has proved difficult in lithic analysis. By applying a materialist model to reconceptualise these categories it becomes possible toidentify them with minimal ambiguity and ot employ these identifications to discuss technological and use behaviours.
